Beating the head with summer flows. Fri 1115

Pranayama: Sahaja, Dirgha, Nadi Shodhana, Analoma Viloma

Flowing through the summer with a peaceful (shanti) vinyasa flow.    Opening the body with grace and love.

Everything will be moved today, balance, standing strength, upper body strength, back strength, twists and folds.

Join me for the juicy feeling with a fluid flow.

Restore, renew and let go. Yum Yum Yoga Thurs 730pm

Pranayama:  Sahaja, Dirgha over a pranayama blanket.

Opening the low back, shoulders and hips using a chair & sandbags.  Restorative forward fold using the chair as support and to allow a full soft opening.  Opening wrists, neck, shoulders and feet before standing.

Standing using the wall to allow gentle easy movement with alignment.  Wall hang, gentle warrior, balance, side body opening.   Restorative twist before aromatherapy, savasana and meditation.

Arching 1/2 Moon? Yup come balance & flow. Tues 745pm

Pranayama: Sahaja, Dirgha, Sun Breath

Flowing Vinyasa to open the hips and warm the legs and spine.

Standing strength:  Skanda, Warriors and  Half moon and arching half moon.  Arching Half Moon is a posture we will work on to continue with the balance building of Half Moon.  I remember when Half Moon was a posture that was alittle “out there” for almost everyone, now however, everyone floats into the posture with beauty and grace. Most of the time anyway, we all have our balance challenge days. 😀 Building on the strength of the back with Cobra rolls.  Twists, Forward Folds.  Aromatherapy & Savasana.

Opening the hips, shoulders and working the core. Tues 530pm

Pranayama: Sahaja, Dirgha,   Skull Shining Breath

100’s, Leg stretch to open the hamstrings, Hip rotations, shoulder openers.  Frog leg rolls, Dead Bug, Crisscross toe taps with wide circles,  Can Can (we all can 🙂   Side leg series that we all love, hot potato, knee toe and more.  Prone to strengthen and balance the work we did with the abdominal muscles with back work. Opposite arm & leg,  Heel beats.  Sweet twists and stretches.

Yum Yum Yoga starts tonight. Mon 7pm

Pranayama: Sahaja, Dirgha, Nadi Shodhana

Opening the neck and shoulders with gentle stretches. Moving onto the eyes, so often we forget the eyes have muscles in them and we don’t  fully use, so tonight we will move through the  eye movements to release and relieve tension in the eyes.

Shoulder openers and twists. The other place tension is held is in the hips so onto opening and moving the hips.  Aromatherapy, Savasana, and meditation will finish the Yum Yum yoga for tonight.

Putting everything together. Fluid Fun Flows. Mon 530

Pranayama: Sahaja, Dirgha, Nadi Shodhana, Analoma Viloma

Everything is a fluid flow tonight.  Cat bows, swan, heel presses, standing strength with Warrior 1 added in.  Toe balance, cobra flows, bridge, hip side stretch, basic hand balance, butterfly, twists.    Aaaah flowing. 😀

Spinal flows and strengthening the back muscles. Tues 745

Tonights class will be flowing along, moving with the breath to open and strengthen the body.

Pranayama: Sahaja, Dirgha,  Sun Breath

Opening the spine with spinal flows side to side and forward and back.  Toe stretch. The focus tonight will be on strengthening the back muscles.  Cobra 1, Cobra 1/Boat, half locust, Boat, Cobra 2 rolls,  Sphinx.

Onto the now strong back to release with bridge rolls, reclined cobbler, adding a twist to this then onto the wonderful opening twist of Hip side stretch with a long hold and my assist.

Roll up for aromatherapy then back down to strap work to open the hamstrings.  Hope we have time for this as the hamstrings are so important. Savasana

Fitness Ball Fun, working the core. Tues 530

Sitting on the fitness ball for the breathing practice: Sahaja, Dirgha, Sun breath.

This class will be fun and funny as we work on the fitness balls and discover how hard the core needs to work to keep the stability of the body and the ball.

Bouncing, twists, holding the ball with motion, sitting on the ball, kneeling beside the ball, and being prone on the ball.   Fun with core work is what this class will be tonight.  😛

As always aromatherapy, relaxation/meditation and savasana will close the class.

Better posture by using the back correctly. Mon 530pm

Pranayama: Sahaja, Dirgha, Shining Skull breath with holds

Opening the side body with palm tree, spinal rolls, cat bow 1,  Standing strength,  mountain heel press, extended mountain moves to open the hips, forward folds with shoulder openers.

Support for better postures starts with the back muscles so tonight we will strengthen them. Cobra 1, Cobra1/Boat, Half Locust , Sphinx.   Releases for the back with Bridge rolls, Cradle, Cobbler and Hip side stretch.

Balance, strength and opening the feet. Fri 1115

Pranayama: Finding center with the breath. Sahaja, Dirgha, Anuloma Viloma

Building strength in the shoulders with Cat Bow 1 & Cat Bow 2. Opening the hips with 3 leg dog, pigeon. Opening the feet before standing strength. Toe stretch, toe balance, cobbler balance, top of foot stretch and the calf and ankle stretch.

Standing strength, to balance chair with a twist.  Building strength in the legs as well as balance by moving from Forward fold to squat. Twists and forward folds before aromatherapy oils and Savasana.
