Yoga Nidra for the 200 hr Yoga Teachers Training Grads Wed 7pm Lotus Pond

The 200 hour Teachers Training group is graduating soon and they are working on yoga therapy this Wed evening.  I was asked to give a nice long Yoga Nidra experience and also speak a little about the benefits of Yoga Nidra and how it can be used in a therapeutic session. I will also discuss the different types of Yoga Nidra and guided meditation.

I will be writing an outline for the Nidra however, most Yoga Nidras are very organic for me I just feel the room and expand on what I am feeling from the group so I am never sure what I am going to say.

I will be doing aromatherapy tonight and it will be Shanti Blend from Yoga Flow Oils, thank you Susan

Rolling the eyes and opening the body. Yum Yum Yoga Thurs 7pm

In this class rolling your eyes won’t get you into trouble with your Mom.  Our Moms didn’t want us to know that rolling our eyes actually uses the muscles of the eyes keeping them strong and supple.

Pranayama: Sahaja, Dirgha, and Nadi Shodhana:

Rolling through the body with gentle rolls and stretches.  The face, neck and eyes will all be awakened this evening, allowing tension to flow out of the body like water down a stream.

Moving to another area  that we store tension the hips.  Gentle hip stretches along with low back opening with bridge rolls.  Hip rotations, butterfly and cradle how can this be anything but Yummy.

Aromatherapy tonight will be Ananda Blend from Yoga Flow Oils, thank you Susan

Restore and Renew Mon 10am

Subbing Susan’s restorative class.  This was so much fun for me. I was able to share my love of taking the time to restore in yoga and  reading some poetry.  In each of the postures I read a poem.

First warming all the joints with Mukunda Stiles Joint Freeing Series.  One of my favorite joint series, it really hits them all.  We did modify for the room and did not do the kneeling postures but did variations that covered most of those movements.

Pranayama: Sahaja, Dirgha   Setting up the bolster for more pranayama opening by lying over the bolster on the side body and letting the ribs open to the ceiling.  This posture is only held one minute each side.

Mountain Brooke posture         Poem~~~~ Centering

Cobbler   posture                     Poem~~~~~~ Let the Mind Be the Mind

Supported Bridge posture    Poem ~~~~~~~~  Time Enough     &            Circle of Breath

Supported Childs posture    Poem ~~~ Outside the Box

Reclined Twist posture     Poem ~~~~~ The Practice Of Being Present   &     Breath by Breath

Savasana with legs elevated.  Aromatherapy  was Prana Blend from Yoga Flow Oils, thank you Susan Wasserman
