Happy Hips for the weekend. Fri 1115 LFF Seminole

Pranayama: Sahaja, Dirgha over 2 blocks

Supine twist, cradle work, hip rotations, can can, roll like a ball, reverse table, cat rolls.  Swan to downward dog, runner type hip opener, 1/2 hanuman.  Penguin, frog, tortoise, easy seat pelvis stretch, hamstring stretches with strap, happy baby, supine crossed leg twist.

Standing Strength Wed 530 Fundamentals

Pranayama: Check in to see that everyone is getting the breathwork

cat rolls, revisited navasana abdominal work, Sun Salutation working with the stepping forward, standing postures using 10′ strap to bring stability to the legs. Warrior 1, pyramid, warrior 2, side angle posture experiencing both sides with the strap then repeating without the strap. Twists and forward folds.

The abdominal strength in yoga postures. Wed 530 fundamentals

Pranayama: Sahaja, Dirgha

Supine with knees bent and shins parallel to ceiling, using abdominal muscles tap toe moving the leg like a hinge to feel the deep abdominal muscles working. Change to tap heel. Lift and lower leg, adding in lift torso.  Happy baby, cat rolls then nose to knee movement in cat, add opposite arm & leg balance. Sun Salute  2 rounds looking at the stepping forward.  Plank with 1/2lotus knee in and hold working the abdominal muscles.  Hands between blocks for dolphin having hands like Doug Keller had. Moving between dolphin and dolphin plank holding.

Navasana work, on mat then turning to face wall and using wall for toes.  Twists and folds to round out class.

Tri Yoga Turns always fun. Monday 530 Shanti Vinyasa

Pranayama: Sahaja, Dirgha, Nadi Shodhana

Gentle flow of a sun salutation with added cat bows 1 & 2, 1/2 hanumanasana to open the hips for the turns.  Working on the turns regular cat turns and the ever popular downward dog, swan, squat tortoise, cat, downward dog and repeat.  Using blocks helps with the move from squat tortoise to cat and then to downward dog.  Squat to forward fold back and forth then to basic hand balance.  L-Seat with 1/2 cowface pose or both legs in cowface pose, cobbler with forward fold, basic squat to roll down to hip side stretch.  Oils and Savasana.

Flying into March with Crow balance. 745pm LFF Shanti Vinyasa

Pranayama: Sahaja, Dirgha

Cat rolls, hip circles to open up the hips. Sun Salutation with swan to downward dog alternating moves, raised runner with prayer twist, 1/2 hanumanasana, vinyasa to wide leg forward fold to Skanda. Dolphin with dolphin planks with leg raises, walking in to get feeling of forearm balance.  Downward dog, hop forward to crow balance position repeat then move into crow balance, hop back to plank ?? Hop feet outside hands for firefly, malasana. Squat using 2 blocks then Tolasana hand balance, toe stretch and toe balance.  twist and folds to round out the class.

Looking a strength and stability in the shoulders. Wed 530pm Fundamentals

Pranayama: Sahaja, Dirgha, Ujjai

Cat rolls, cat bows, 1/4 dog,  downward facing dog, plank, forearm plank, to dolphin, 4 legged table. Shoulder work at the wall (Doug Keller), chest expansion, shoulder stretches on the wall, releasing the shoulders with shoulder openers with a strap.

Pranayama: Sahaja, Dirgha, Ujjai

Moving through a flowing class full of gentle heart opening postures.  Cat bows, cobra flows of cobra 1, cobra1 Boat, cobra 2, cobra 3, raised cobra all done as a flow.  Swan rolls, swan thigh stretch, half tortoise with a twist, cobbler, easy seat chest expansion, forward fold, walk side to side. Aromatherapy and Savasana

Slow Flow and gentle stretches. Thurs 530pm

Pranayama over 2 blocks to open up the chest.

Starting by warming up the abs in a supine position, rolling up to a Navasana flow. Slow and mindful Sun Salutation. Moving into hip openers with Skanda before the standing postures. Balance blend of a moving balance.  Toe balance  to the floor for a cobra flow to strengthen the back, forward folds and twists to wring out anything that no longer serves you.

Valentine’s week is Heart opening week. Wed 530 Fundamentals

Pranayama: Sahaja, Dirgha, Nadi Shodhana, with strap around shoulders.

Sun Salutation to warm up and check in. Cat rolls, cat bows, cat/child flow, half locust, full locust, cobra flow, bridge rolls, hip side stretch, reclined cobbler, aromatherapy and Savasana in queens pose.
