Working the shoulders, back & core with bands. Tues 530pm

Hi all,

Getting ready for all the shoving and pushing at the mall for the holiday season 🙂 just kidding.  We are going to be building some strength and stability in the shoulders tonight along with the core and back.  The bands add just the right amount of resistance for each person to work at their own level.  Join me for some work and fun.

Aromatherapy will be Vata/Pitta Blend from Yoga Flow Oils, thank you Susan

Flowing to open back and build strength. Mon 530 Shanti Vinyasa

Pranayama:  Sahaja, Dirgha, Box Breath

Opening with the gentle flow with cat bows and swans. Toe stretch with focus on the hand mudras putting the mudras into action with the gentle wave spinal.  Onto the back with hip openers then to standing for a simple balance before moving onto the standing strength flow.  Cross L-Seat twist and folds, butterfly, easy seat with forward folds and side stretches. Opening the heart to the season. Tues 745pm Shanti Flow

Pranayama: Sahaja, Dirgha, Nadi Shodhana

Rolling like a ball, roll back with twist, bridge rolls,  bridge to plow? with block if needed, apanasana, cat rolls, toe stretch with chest expansion. Sun Salute with wild thing and belly of the dragon, plank with added leg lift. Hindi squat, horse,balance with a twist, camel, locust, cobra flow. Vajrasana twist, janu Sirsanana with twisting open. Aromatherapy and savasana.

Rolling, Rolling, Rolling, Core class Tues 530pm

Here we go everyone, I have had some requests for a roller class and the place I get my props from had them on sale so I got some.

Tonight we will explore together the roller pilates style I am sure we will have some laughs and a workout.  I am still learning this so it will be a beginner level class.

Restorative Class ~ Just this. Wed 7pm Yum Yum

Tonights class is a pure restorative class.  Opening with a short set of joint freeing to loosen everything before moving into the restorative practice

Lung openers, Mountain Brook, Cobbler, bridge, child or wide leg forward fold, reclined twist, Savasana.

That is it ~~~~~ just this.  YUMMY

Down Dog, Warrior 2 Fundamentals Wed 530pm

Pranayama: over a bolster or blanket roll on each side and on back. Sahja, Dirgha

Leg lifts and hip rotations, bridge rolls with arm work and block between knees.  Reclined twist adding in some core work, cat rolls, pin wheel hip openers with shoulder work.  Touching again on Downward Dog adding the stick or blocks on the wall.   Warrior 2 with blocks and using the wall.    Goddess stance with shoulder dips and temple twist.  Wide leg forward fold, toe balance to floor. Nadi Shodhana  gentle twist oils savasana.

Balance and strength. Tues 745pm Shanti Flow

Standing shoulder openers with strap.  Sun Salutations with hip openers (I have got a new one for you), runner with leg warmers, runner twist, warrior 1 variation, chair with twists.

Standing strength: Deviasana with temple stretch, Warrior 1 series,  warrior 1, warrior 3, pyramid, revolved triangle, revolved half moon, revolved triangle, pyramid, standing split to forward fold.  repeating other side.

Toe balance to the floor,  a few twists and forward folds before aromatherapy and savasana

Mat work for the tummy and arms Tues 530pm Core

Pranayama: Seated sun breath sitting in easy seat.

Moving into roll downs with a little twist, adding in the three part roll down bit by bit to find the spot that needs more focus.  Onto back for some leg work.  Ready for the 100’s, push through is working the abs as well as the back and arm muscles.  Roll over everyone’s favorite then onto the Can Can getting everything looking lovely.  Roll back with twist deep  to Saw, rowing, shave the head ??? what ?? no worries really, hug a tree,  cobra work, pulling straps. Water wheel, Navasana, rolling like a ball to roll to standing. Cat rolls to puppy stretch to rabbit.  Down dog to raised cobra, camel prep, L seat slide, cradle stretch, twists, aromatherapy to Savasana

Gentle Standing Strength Mon 7pm Yum Yum

Pranayama with jelly roll blanket under neck and roll under knees opening the shoulders as well by having the arms overhead.  Sahaja, Dirgha

Moving into gentle stretches for the shoulders and hips before moving into the standing strength series.  Leg lifts, hip circles, cradle stretch with a twist.   Rolling up to sun bird as well as the strengthening vajrasana breaths with neck release, child with side stretch.

Standing strength: Deviasna, 5 point star, Warrior 2, Side angle, Sun Warrior, Triangle, 5 point star repeating to other side.  Forward fold down to the floor, prone long arm cobra, child, aromatherapy to savasana.
