Visting some moves we have left on the shelf too long. Tues 745 Shanti Flow

Pranayama:  Sahaja, Dirgha, box breath

Point & flex feet, reverse table, roll back and twist, toe stretch with eagle arms, rabbit, forearm plank with oblique twist.  Sun Salutations with wild thing, belly of the dragon, standing strength mixed in. Balance flow.  Squat with twist, gate pose, quad stretch, Janu Sirsasana with twist, 1/2 lord of the fishes with bind, seated star, seated wide leg forward fold.  Aromatherapy and Savasana

Flowing Dragon with strength building. Mon 530 Shanti Vinyasa

Pranayama: Sahaja, Dirgha, shining skull with internal hold.

Breaking out the Flowing Dragon series tonight. Opening the hands and feet then moving into the dragon. Sun Salutations will have strength building in them with side plank variation as well as dolphin.  Balance is Dancing Shiva.  To the floor for spinal flows to make sure the back stays strong and open. Bridge rolls, reclined cobbler. Aromatherapy and Savasana.

Hand stretch, cat rolls, toe stretch with hand mudras, top of feet stretch, core work, down dog heel press.  dragon series in the sun salutation format, sun salute with swan, plank & side plank, dolphin, shiva balance, cobra flows, twists and forward bends to round out the class.  Aromatherapy & Savasana

Fall Fun- Flow witn Iyengar. 10am Fri Yoga4All

Hi all,

I am subbing Wanda’s Friday morning class today so we will have a little flow and lots of Iyengar.

Pranayama:  Shaja, Dirgha, Kapalabhati with holds.

Stretching out the hands before beginning.  Lots of warm ups as a morning class we need to have the joints oiled. Cat rolls, cat hip circles, calf stretches, toe stretches, hip rolls with shoulder opener.

Warming up the feet with the ole golf ball massage.   Darsha Charna.  Sun Salutation with some cobras added in to strengthen the back.   Wanda wanted you all to have some abdominal work so here we go with that.  Shoulder isolation awareness.   Balance.  Iyengar leg and movement awareness for moving into 1/2 moon, from runner to forward fold, warrior 1 to warrior 3.  Hand balance,  Twists and forward folds. 

Aromatherapy then down to floor for some bridge rolls with block support.   Savasana

Touching base with TrIyengar tonight. Mon 530

Pranayama:  Easy seat with seated breath of joy.

Moving through a Cindi Lee warm up with cat rolls, downward dog, thread the needle, arm circles and chest expansion before opening the feet with toe stretch.  Hindi squat to a temple twist.

Sun Salutations with the cobra work for the back before sharing the Iyengar option of the Tri Yoga Cat Bows  3 in 1 with a block.   Using the dowel for the side body backbending work to again expand the side body.

 Bridge rolls to body awareness by observing the hips to notice if there is one that is “wayward” as Karin calls it.  Usually everyone has 1 that is wayward.  We will discover how to recognize it and how to work with it to bring it more into balance.

Folds and twists before aromatherapy and Savasana.

Ease within the poses. Strength in the legs. Tues 745 Shanti Flow

Pranayama: Sahaja, Dirgha, Nadi Shodhana

Toe stretch which can be advanced, calf stretch, Achilles stretch,  1/4 dog stretch.  Some leg work tonight to find the strength as well as the balance to make postures easier and the breath free.  1/2 moon leg work to integrate it into Warrior 3, revolved 1/2 moon, revolved triangle.    Tonight we will also work the balance with a moving balance, knee to chest, balance stick, star, knee to chest with a twist all without touching down.   Folds and twist to settle into a Savasana frame of mind.

Welcoming in the fall with a fluid flow. Mon 530

Pramayama:  Sahja, Dirgha, Nadi Shodhana

From Vajrasana moving into Rabbit to stretch the neck and awaken the top of the head.

Smooth Sun Salute with cat bows, cobra work for the back.  A few twists before opening the feet with toe stretch, toe balance and stretching the top of the feet.  Opening the hips with swan bows and rolls and a few other hip openers.    Extended squat and extended leg hold to hand balance (?)   Adding in a twist or two here before rolling down into happy baby, hip side stretch and reclined cobbler.

Triyengar yoga tonight Mon 530

A blend tonight of TriYoga and Iyengar  the two I just love.

Pranayama: Sahaja, Dirgha, Kapalabhati with retention

Hip openers and gentle forward stretches to open the spine. Toe stretch & toe balance.  10 churnings to open the body to flow. Gentle modified Sun Salutation, Shiva Balance, cat bows.  Standing strength, basic squat to basic hand balance.  building some core strength.  Hip side stretch as well as a few other forward folds and twists. savasana

TrIyengar my mix of TriYoga & Iyengar Yoga. Mon 530pm

Pranayama: Dirgha and Shining Skull breath.

Cat rolls, toe stretch with neck stretches, inversion and eversion for knee strength. Reverse table for the arms and Navasana flow for the core. Standing strength flow.  Adding in tonight the advanced version of cat rolls with extended cat which is with a leg lifted, this really brings stability and strength to the core. Karin Stephan’s back bending using a dowel to refine the movement before moving to the floor to open the back with gentle cobra flows.

Bridge rolls then supported bridge to release everything. Happy baby and hip side stretch.  Time to roll up for aromatherapy and Savasana.  WOW where does the time go. 😀

Full body massage with Yoga tonight. Tues 745pm

Tonight every body part will be massage with the gift of Yoga. From the tip of the head to the tip of the toes.

Pranayama: Sahaja, Dirgha, Nadi Shodhana.  Adding in Rabbit stretch to open the mind.

Moving right into standing and movement. Warming up the shoulders with cat bows and for those that don’t like those and find them too easy we will have harder options for you…. no worries.  Moving down the body to the back, opening the front of the body while strengthening the back.  A few seated twists that also open the hips.  Then opening the feet with toe stretch and for those that want more advancing the move.   Aaah the hips, opening the hips with swan and sustaining the holds.  Happy baby and a nice long sustaining hold of hip side stretch. Reclined easy seat and reclined cobbler.  Time for aromatherapy and Savasana.
