Freeing the side body. 7pm Wed Yum Yum Yoga

Pranayama: side lying over a bolster and then onto the back for a supported back bend.  Feeling the side body and front body opening.

Mula rolls, hip rolls, mermaid series.  Easy sit and walk hands, cat, thread the needle, swan with twist. Tias side lying elbow to knee, Anatasana series, low lunge with side bend, gate, kneeling side warrior. aromatherapy then to the floor for fingers in the sand shoulder openers and supta padangustasana.

Finding the shoulders and upper back. Wed 530 Fundamentals

Pranayama over 2 blocks to open the upper back and heart.

1/4 dog using blocks, thread the needle, elbows on blocks anahatasana, rabbit, cat, table of torture.  Doug Keller work for the shoulders on the wall.  Using flex bands for a few strengthening moves. Goddess with eagle arms.  Using the wall to stretch out the shoulders.  Goddess shoulder dip, forward fold, cat, child walking hands side to side. Aromatherapy and Savasana.

The shoulder stretches done at the wall had a request for more detail to them so here we go. Standing next to wall have palm on wall with fingertips pointing down just lower than hip height. Step forward 1/2 step. Keep collarbones broad, shoulders relaxed, feet straight and lined up. Step back to release.

Opening the heart for the New Year. Tues 745pm

Opening the heart with spinal flows and backbends.

Warm up of a Sun Salutation variation adding in some leg stretches and shoulder stretches.  Cobra  rolls, boat, bow with stretched bow, raised cobra, swan bows and a twist, wide leg forward fold

Ease back into the space between the holidays. 7pm Yum Yum

Pranayama over 2 blocks

Supine with arm slides, roll to side for arm and hip movements, rock the pelvic clock adding in the head. Rocking hips with arm stretch opening the side body. Child pose walk right & left. Hip openers half hanumanasana with long holds.  Cat rolls,bridge rolls, cradle stretch, aromatherapy & savasana

Shanti Vinyasa Flow for LFF Tyrone. Mon 1030am

Subbing for a body flow class at Tyrone LFF this morning.

Pranayama: Sun breath, breath of joy, deviasana breath.

sun Salutation B, standing strength,  crane, seagull, airplane, star. Hip openers of down dog, wild thing, belly of the dragon, swan with an added twist. Abdominal work of roll back with a twist, navasanana flow.  forearm plank, dolphin & dolphin/plank, side plank with thread the needle. cat, facedown, cobra 2 flow.  Twists and forward folds close out the practice.

Aromatherapy today will be Vata/Kapha Blend from Yoga Flow Oils, thank you Susan.

Opening up the hips with gentle stretches. Wed 7pm Yum Yum Yoga

Pranayama over 2 blocks:  Sahaja, Dirgha

Slide a strap that is made into a loop over the body before coming onto the floor. Leg lifts, leg stretch, hip rolls, reclined tree, extended reclined tree, half happy baby, cradle, cobbler.  Roll up   Cat rolls,  cat to child roll.  aromatherpy & Savasana.  Savasana tonight will be with the legs propped up on a huge stack of blankets yummy

Gentle beginners flow class. 530pm Fundamentals

Seated sun breath with arm movements.  Mula rolls, easy seat reed and twist.  Gate to open the side body, downward dog.  Sun Salutation A, Sun Salutation B,  Wide Leg Forward fold with a twist.  Locust, frog, Janu Sirsasana, Cobbler, Navasana, twist, aromatherapy, savasana.

This is a class that Amanda does so we will see how everyone is progressing.

Holiday Flow moving through the body. Shanti Vinyasa Tues 745 LFF

Warming the body tonight with a nice holiday flow.  Well that was my intention however, Mr Iyengar’s birthday was today and the practice just flowed into a strong standing (grounding) practice that honored Mr Iyengar.

Pranayama: Sahaja, Dirgha, Nadi Shodhana

Sun Salutations before moving on to opening the hips with pigeon, 3 leg dog, runners stretch.  Strong set of standing postures held with awareness and purpose. Hand Balance  of crow, squat to cockey mudra with a cooling breath. To floor for forward folds and twists. Aromatherapy & Savasana rounds out the evening.

Aromatherapy tonight will be Vata/Kapha Blend from Yoga Flow Oils, thank you Susan  This blend is perfect for the weather we are having now  cold and windy.  This has a wonderful smell of warmth and love. I also brought some yogi tea to warm the body,mind and spirit for the journey home on this cold evening.
