Pranayama: Standing Dirgha, Sun Breath, Breath of Joy

Sun Salutations to warm the muscles, then to balance. Tree, star, Dancer,  Swan flow.  Cobra rolls to Boat, Bow, flowing cobra,  cat/child flow,  bridge rolls add leg lift,  reclined cobbler, hip side stretch twist. Aromatherapy and Savasana with blocks under thighs   aaahhhhh

Pranayama: Sahaja, Dirgha, Shining skull breath

Tonight will be a heart opening practice with gentle backbending posture flows.  Cat bows, cobra flow of cobra 1, cobra 1/boat, cobra 2,  cobra 3 and raised cobra.  So healthy for our backs as well as our hearts. Swan flow with thigh stretch, half tortoise with a twist, cobbler, easy seat forward fold and walk hands side to side. Aromatherapy, Savasana.

Let’s twist again like we did last summer. Tues 745 LFF Sem

Pranayama: Sahaja, Dirgha, Nadi Shodhana

Easy seat, reed adding twist and forward fold, cat rolls, cat stretch, cross bow. Toe stretch with twist, toe balance with twist.  Sun Salutation adding on crescent warrior with open and closed twists. Warrior 1, pyramid, revolved triangle, revolved 1/2 moon then rewinding that. Deviasana twist.  Floor twists and forward folds including Janu Sirsasana with a twist, hip side stretch, rocking hip twist and arm reach. Aromatherapy and Savasana.

Enjoying the strength of the shoulders flowing tonight. Mon 530 Shanti Vinyasa

After strengthening the shoulders last week we will enjoy them with flowing postures tonight.

Pranayama: Sahaja, Dirgha, Nadi Shodhana, Anuloma Viloma

A gentle flow with cat bows, swan to downward dog to open the hips, to wide leg forward fold with a sway to prepare for standing posture flow. Flowing with spinal flows next of Cobra 1/boat and cobra 2,  bridge rolls with supported bridge with blocks and a few leg stretches here. Happy baby, hip side stretch, janu sirsasana, aromatherapy, eagle twist and savasana.

Twisting things up tonight. Wed 530pm Fundamentals

Pranayama: Starting in a chair to feel the breath move and the sitting bones grounded.

Twisting is such a personal experience  in the chair we all discovered what is a healthy twist for our unique body.  Feeling the difference in allowing the sacrum/pelvis float alittle with the twist verses keeping the hips unmoving and twisting from this position. What brings freedom to the spine for you?  Moving into standing twist of just swing and wrap the arms around to chair with a twist.

Cat rolls to thread the needle two ways regular and then deeper bringing the armpit toward the knee.  Lunge twist using the block to create space in the side body as well as a gentle twist with hand on the floor and twist toward the thigh.  Supine twists, happy baby, aromatherapy and savasana

Pranayama: Sahaja, Dirgha over blocks

Easy seat side bends, chest openers, wrist rolls, finger openers, mula rolls, nose circles, neck side stretch, rock the baby, cat rolls, toe stretch.  Shoulder rolls, trap squeeze, thread the needle.  Penguin, frog, leg stretches, reclined cradle, twists. Aromatherapy and Savasana

Strength and Balance in the shoulders. Fri 1115 LFF Sem

Pranayama: easy seat Dirgha with arm movements

1/4 dog with block, thread the needle increasing the stretch by moving the forearm closer to the knee, elbows on blocks and lower heart to floor anahatasana, rabbit, cat with lifting the knees and round the back. Table of torture, Doug Keller work, holding a block shoulder alignment, goddess with eagle arms, chair with prayer twist, reed. Downward dog to Cat bows, dolphin to dolphin plank add leg lift if want more work, forearm plank with thread the needle. Face down shoulder stretch.  Cobra with hands clasped behind back. Natural seat with chest expansion, eagle arms, trap squeeze.  Aromatherapy fingers in the sand Savasana

Moving to the wall standing postures. Wed 530 Fundamentals

Pranayama:  Side Lying over bolster or roll of blankets. Moving to lying over noodle.

Easy pose twist, reed, drape and fold. Mermaid then to wall for side plank variation, forearm plank on wall, low lunge, downward dog with feet on blocks and heels on wall.  Standing reed, triangle with back to wall, 1/2 moon, revolved triangle with back to wall.  Triangle with strap along back feel the difference.  Wide leg forward fold with hips & heels on wall. Twists and forward folds, aromatherapy and Savasana.

Foam roller fun. Tues 530pm Core strength

Pranayama will be draping over the foam roller this evening. Feeling the expansion of the breath from the  mid-line out.

Working on the roller tonight not only works the inner core muscles but also the balance.  Tonight we will be going between the roller and working some old fashion abdominal work.  Finishing  with deep massage using the roller.

Flowing with strength~~upper body and legs. Mon 530 Shanti Vinyasa

Pranayama: Sahaja, Dirgha, Nadi Shodhana, Analoma Viloma

Standing, to chair, forward salute, forward fold, jumping or stepping back to Downward Facing Dog.  Bringing back the cat bows for a few weeks so cat bows 1 & 2.  Swan to 3 legged dog.  Working with a “T” mat to make the standing postures a beautiful flow.  Wide leg forward fold with a sway, forward salute, triangle, side angle, triangle, warrior 2, side warrior, 1/4 turn to raised runner, warrior 1, raised runner to 1/2 moon, warrior 1, raised runner, walk back to wide leg forward fold and we do it again on the other side.  Toe balance, cat, downward dog, standing. 

To the floor to strengthen the back to my favorite Cobra1/boat flow to flowing cobra flow.  L seat to bridge to happy baby, hip side stretch.  Aromatherapy, Savasana
